Happy Client:
Goodifinder
As we started to help Goodifinder, a Chicago-based company dedicated to find unique products globally to the local markets, the first thing was to help them calculate the landed cost. Now that part of the work is done, Goodifinder has become very confident that as long as they can find the right market to promote their products, they will be able to make money.
The next step? Find the right market-fit. Threeflows is now taking on a new project to help our client explore the business opportunities in the traditional street market segment.
Nothing can beat Bryant Park Winter Village Christmas Market - at least that's in the opinion of some of the long term New Yorkers.
The Bryant Park Winter Village is one of the most anticipated Christmas events in New York City. It marks the official start of the holiday season in Manhattan. This festive event transforms Bryant Park into a true winter wonderland. Visitors will enjoy a wide selection of holiday shops and delicious food stands. Most importantly, it offers the city’s only free-admission ice skating rink. People can start their Christmas celebrations early by visiting this popular Manhattan holiday market. The Bryant Park Winter Village is the perfect destination for both locals and tourists looking to enjoy the Christmas spirit in NYC.
Here are some of the insights from the trip report...
Overall Observations: many stores (60%) have niche handmade or locally made products, or products made in "exotic international locations" like Turkey or Latin America. A few product stores with themes like self care, apparels, pets. Lots of jewelry. But interesting, a lack of kitchen products (which means some of your products could sell really well".
This trip report - together with tons of pictures and videos, gave our client an intimate feel about this segment of the market (tags: Christmas, Manhattan, Street Fair). But our market research will not stop here just yet. What about the other parts of New York? Chicago? Los Angeles? And what about the non-holiday season? Or should Goodifinder target smaller retailers who are struggling to compete against the big guys? What are their painpoints?
